I’m sure some are a bit shocked by the suggested price of $75,000 for the new 2014 Camaro Z/28. Once you break down the differences between this car and a base Camaro, or any other sports coupe around you’ll see that the price may not be as outlandish as it may seem at first.
The 2014 Z/28 is essentially a track-ready GT car, with a few creature comforts. It is clear this isn’t the same Z/28 package that was available for the first through forth generation Camaro. The car means business, with weight reduction just about anywhere you’d care to look, giant 6-piston brakes, Four 305/30ZR-19 Pirelli PZero tires (yes, that is a 305 for the front tires as well).
Dealerships will begin taking pre-orders likely the end of this month. With the primary function of the car clear, it seems to follow that GM knows this will be a car for a select few, but if they’re okay with that so am I.
