In Tokyo, the Chevrolet Camaro took the salon floor by storm with a fancy new edition by Giovanna. General Motors brought out their special edition Camaro featuring stripes down the body and 20-inch WTW Corp wheels. It also has unique head rests and door plates sporting the Giovanna logo. It’s a Japanese take on the American pony car. This Giovanna package was developed by a local Chevrolet/Cadillac dealership in the suburb of Tokyo’s Kunitachi.
Not only did the Giovanna edition grace the Tokyo Salon floor, but GM also showed off a Sonic Street Icon Package created by IROC Co. Ltd. This Sonic Street Icon Package features Gianna Blitz wheels, E&G mesh grille finished with carbon decal racing stripes.
The last vehicle displayed by GM was the ’13 Captiva Freedom Rider with Gianna Crown rims and T-Rex Chrome mesh grille, all created by the same company, IROC Co., Ltd. See pictures here.
The 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon is comparable to our SEMA show held in Las Vegas every year, the biggest aftermarket parts show that goes on for four whole days at the Las Vegas convention center. It’s likely that GM won’t show up at the ’13 Tokyo Auto Show, but it makes more sense for them to show off aftermarket beauties at an aftermarket convention.
Glad to see the American-made Chevrolet Camaro rockin’ some sweet stuff over in Japan. They seem to like the American Camaro and it definitely fit in at the salon with some nice decked-out rides.
