There's a guy at my local track that drifts his 4th gen camaro every Sunday, he's the only v8 on the track and he spins out often but is getting better at controlling it week by week

Yeah its not hard to do with RWD but, when it comes to actually drifting and I mean going pretty fast and letting the *** end slide out there is a very fine line between having control and losing it.

If you can learn to drift a v8 though hello beast mode can ya day vaughn gittin jr. Dude is ridiculous. But like 94 said anyone can kick the back end out on a corner but controlling it effectively is a whole diff story.

I've always heard they make a good drift car for someone who is a good drift racer because of the weight of it

Just because you drift a turn doesn't mean your a pro. Look at the Japanese drifters, now that's drifting. Not just do one corner without doing the other side as well, that's drifting with total control of your car. I bet you can't even drift the car going down or up a hill, I can't. I hate when people say they know how to drift when they only drift to one side. XD

Ahh come on navyvet, its not all that bad, it's kinda fun lol... Also, I don't imagine that's too much of a wear on the tire compared to a lot of other things you can do. He's not heating up tires as much as he would on dry pavement, and the water allows for a lot more tire spin, thus reducing wear. Personally its worth the fun for the tire wear lol.

While you CAN drift a 4th gen F-body with some practice, it will never really look too impressive due to the severely limited steering angle that the stock wheel well/front suspension/wheel specification allows for.

I'm following a drift build a guy is doing for his 4th gen. He is doing it the right way. The big thing for him right now is CNC'ing custom brackets to increase steering angle. Thread here: 4th Gen drift build - LS1TECH

In his first attempt, he cut out a section of the stock spindle and welded it back together for increased steering angle. Welding cast iron isn't really a good idea, so he's working on getting a CNC version together. I got some pricing for his current CNC design but there were too many things I'd have to hack up on my car to make them work, so I'm gonna hold off on that. If you don't care about hacking your car up and can reinforce the front frame with tubular steel, you can contact him for some pricing on the current CNC design.

Who needs a front bumper anyways. Seems like the cool thing to have along with a trailer hitch.
