Second car

Alright, wasnt really sure where to start this thread. First, some info, I'm currently 17 and have a 1998 Plymouth breeze from my parents, it runs good, but just isn't quite fast enough for my tastes. Don't get me wrong, I love it, it's reliable but I'm ready to upgrade, now currently I work at Burger King so I don't have the greatest income, so here's what I want, it has to be a muscle or sports or muscle car, must be a coupe, and must have a V-8. Apart from that It just has to be fast, now since I'm on a minimum wage income I need some suggestions on what to get, don't care what year, make, or model as long as its not a ford. Wish me luck on this first thread

3rd generation (1982-1992) Camaro Z28, Pontiac Firebird Formula, or Pontiac Trans Am packages.

Or

Early (1993-1997) 4th generation f-bodies of the same packages.

2nd Gens are becoming rare so they are becoming costly when in good condition and a V8 late (1998-2002) 4th gen F-body in any good condition will probably run you $5000, maybe $4000 if you find a deal. I doubt that's in your range. No offense - not in mine either.

Also, if you get yourself into a V8 F-body expect to have a "fun" time with insurance. Just a heads-up.

Edit: One more thing; you put this thread in a really unrelated subforum, unless you intended on using this car for AutoX.

This. Full coverage for my GTO is 200 bucks a month. That's with no tickets or accidents. A 98-02 v8 fbody wouldn't be much different cost wise.

My buddy got himself an 87 gta trans am for 2.5k. But to tell you the truth that's way overpayed when you say the condition it's in. I mean his fuel tank is being held on by a bungee cord for Christs sake, but a trans am or camaro might definitely work. Most I can spend is prolly about 3 grand so the 2nd gen is out of my league, though I would enjoy that.

I get you. But yeah man, condition is what determines value in just about any sort of sale.

3 grand in my area (South Florida) would net a nice, not flawless, but nice early 4th gen V8. The cheapest out of the 3 packages would probably be the Formula because all it is is a firebird with an LT1. Whereas the T/A comes with the upgraded styling.

The 93-97 Camaro Z/28 is really just a fully-loaded (power options, t-tops in most cases, etc.) V6 model except the fact that it actually has the LT1. But the 4th gen Camaros don't get any upgraded styling until you go up to the SS model which was introduced in '96.

It's not a big deal, really. Besides, a staff member will probably move it soon enough. They're good here.

I'm not too worried about trim or anything, I did mean to mention it must be automatic, no one ha taught me to drive stick so that would definitely be a must

I taught myself in my current car.
Only one way to learn man, look up some pointers online until you get better and better with it in practice. But that's if you wanted to learn manual.

Really it doesn't matter, it's a preference. And if you have that need for speed and nothing else then you'll want an auto.

Because while manual transmissions are more fun, IMO, I know that autos shift faster because like a few other members say here; you can't outshift a computer.

Never hurts to learn, that swayed me on my first car purchase too an I regret it. I bought my first manual not knowing how to drive stick and learned fine in one day, not tough

As long as you are having fun with it that's all the matters.

My best chance for something like that would be to play the powerball. Lmao.

Ya I feel ya. Plan on being a pharmacist after high school and college, but even the chance of me find a yenko 429 is very very slim

But seriously as mentioned an early 4th gen can be had for under 3k. That's probably your best bet.

What makes you want to be a pharmacist?

Honestly, that's the wrong career to get into for the money. You are Extremley capped on what you can make, and they are usually in debt their whole life from school.

Also, street racing/guess how fast i went on the highway stories aren't usually tolerated just so uk
