so i just did my optispark and of course i did it wrong... the car started and ran turned it off now it wont start... it sounded a little off but figured it was the timing i turned it off.... got a socket on the screw and went to start it and it wont start... any ideas before i rip this thing back down... any help is greatly appreciated
Socket on what screw?
There is no timing adjustment with an opti spark, it is all done by the ECM/PCM.
Also there is supposedly no way the opti can be incorrectly installed because the shaft is splined and keyed, see picture: http://shbox.com/1/93-94_opti.jpg
everythings good and the MSD opti can be timed... it was weird i started it it ran like it was out of timing a little i shut it off set everything up to time it... then it wouldnt start... an hour or so later i tried again for the fuck of it and it started? im so confused
The MSD opti can only adjust the timing a few degrees, nothing more than that. It is mostly for guys running nitrous so they can back off the timing at the track. Even if it was fully retarded the car would still run ok.
