California smog and engine swaps, anyone done it?
At what point is a referee needed on a engine swap. I have pretty much stayed within the guidelines same year or newer, of the same classification of vehicle. My 97 lt1 passed smog with ease when it was in the z28 and all host parts are being used.
But if this engine was optional in same car it is replacing do you need to go to a referee?
My camaro passed smog last month so soonest I have to worry about this is 2 years from now, however better to be prepared.
any actual california smog techs here that can answer this question?
