iac

Hey guys,
When the car is running and I unplug the iac should the RPMs stay the same or shoot up. When my 93 Trans am is running in park and neutral the car is at 1100 RPMs and when it's in gear like reverse or drive it drops down to 800RPMs. I clean the seat where iac goes underneath the tb and the iac valve too. Still having the same problem. I think it's bad just want to make sure before I purchase a new one. Also replace my tps and the voltage is correct. When the car get warm both my fans kick on too so I don't know if this is in result to the same issue or something else.

1993 Trans am 5.7L LT1 engine is stock
New alternator, starter, tps, fuel pump, and fuel filter. Also getting a bbk tb 58mm this Thursday.
Thanks
Ray

The rpm should stay the same. Also it's normal for the RPMs to drop a bit when you put it in gear.

Thanks I found out it was a vacuum leak near the tb never knew it would affect the iac or the tps and had codes. But since I fixed the vacuum leak everything is cherry. Idle is perfect
