no turn signals

Just swapped out 95camaro column into my 95 Trans am. My turn signals worked before the swap but now they dont. I put the switch from Mine into this column and still nothing. The flasher is good, fuse is good, wires look good. Hazard lights work and all bulbs light up. What else can cause this problem?

Turn signal stalk must be defective.

The turn signal switch / mechanism inside the column could be broken.

Is the stalk what the lever pushes into?

I did put the switch from the column I removed into this one. Turn signals worked before. How does the stalk work the signals besides moving up and down?

Define switch.
There's a mechanism with switches in the column that the lever activates.
It's the cancelling mechanism that turns off the signals as the steering wheel returns to straight.

Have you checked the fuses?
Did you mess with the brake light switch?

Fuse is good. When I took the column out it was resting on the brake switch. Could a broken switch cause no turn signals?

Do the hazard lights work when the hazard flasher is turned on?

Yes. turn signals also do not light on the dash but hazards do. I didn't test any other lights outside the car as I was by myself at the time. Not sure if any of the others are not working.

Turn on the hazards and walk around the car and see what is or isn't flashing.

Sorry, I didn't explain myself good.

All bulbs flash that are suppose to. I wanted to say I wasn't sure if brake lights or reverse lights ect. were working.

The brake lights and the hazards are the same bulbs.
however you do need to have someone check and see if the brake lights come on with the pedal pressed.
You can put the tranny in reverse and walk back and check the reverse lights.
The are powered by the same fuse as the turn signals

Power source for the turn signals is different than the source for the hazards.
