Need to start with the basics. Check coolant level, check for leaks. Make sure both fans are coming on. Make sure system is pressurized. Correct radiator cap. Etc.......

It's a 96 Trans Am 5.7 LT1 no smoke no nothing just drive it for a while and it slowly starts climbing all the way up parked before it hit the 3rd line on the gauge turned it off for about 40 mins and the gauge went up right after I drove it for like 1-2 mins then the gauge went back to normal.

Sounds like low coolant.
Check the radiator and fill it, also fill the coolant recovery tank.

You need to also fill the recovery tank, that's what keeps the radiator full.

If your coolant was that low you also need to bleed the air out of the system.

On lt1s with the motor running crack the two bleeder valves until a steady of coolant comes out.

The forum software does it.
It changes a post in ALL caps to what you see. The original post was "supposed" to be in all caps....thank god it wasn't.

So when I put the hose on should I let the air bubbles out or should I bleed it and let the air that way?
