Angry wtf more BS

I'm about ready to pack it in with this car.Today i go out and turn the key and turned over real slow for just a couple seconds and all it does is click now,not just a single click but rapid fire like a machine gun Some one told me that when you do this if the interior lights go out you have a bad starter and if they dim it's not or vice versa

What's the voltage? Sounds like a weak battery. But, could also be the starter. If the voltage is above 11.5 volts, then its probably the starter.

I don't have a volt meter but just went out again and it turned real slow and right back o the clicking...think ur right about the battery, connections look clean but gonna get out there and clean them all up first....how about if i jump it before i do this so if i turns right over gotta be the battery or connections i would think??

Ya, if it turns over being jumped, then most likely a weak battery. BUT, if it's a weak battery, another question is "why is the battery weak"? Something draining it? Old battery?

Just remove the battery and take it to the local advance, auto zone, vatozone, or oreillys. They'll test it for free. My bet is the battery. I'd NEVER buy a used battery.

I just get the gold duralast one from autozone. I've had them go out on me but with like a 10 year or whatever warranty I'm fine with not getting hassled on a battery. Firebird has an optima red top though.

If there's 1 gauge in these cars that is "not accurate", its the voltage gauge. Mine is off almost 1 volt. At that position, just above 13, "actual" voltage is about 13.9. Just under the 13 mark is actually 13.4. So, I wouldn't worry about where it reads/shows. Take your car to advance, auto zone or O' Reilly and have them test actual voltage when car is running and compare that to what the gauge shows. They can also tell you if the charging system is working properly.

Maybe your car has a low current draw somewhere that's draining the battery when sitting. OR, charging system isn't working properly. OR, maybe car isn't driven long enough to keep battery charged fully. OR, all the above.
