thats your best bet for now...

you'll need to save some of the parts of your original engine. IIRC, it was upper intake/TB, injector rails, and A/C as well as the headers (the late model stock headers interfere with the A/C)

do you use your car as a daily driver? how long will your engine last? if you are going to swap IMO you should get an LT1. thats if you have another car to use while you get the engine

that works... that way all you have to do is pull and swap. you don't have to mess with changing the intakes and stuff

if you can get them off your current engine, lol... i couldn't get one of the old ones off, so we did a welding laser mod to the length of the ypipe on one side

Hmm if it's a DD I wouldn't put in a v8. I'd keep it a v6. My friend's mom drives a 500+ procharged v8 camaro as her DD and lets just say v8's are poor DD choices

I DD'd my Monaro for three years - in the snow, too - but then again, it isn't heavily-modded, (motor-wise) either.

As for the OP, I'd stick with the 3.8 if the car's a DD. Not worth the hassles and the downtime of a swap. Everything else you have now should work - and you might be able to have someone do a valve job/bowl blend the stock heads for a little extra (and somewhat cheaply).
