Question 97 camaro rs exhaust question

Hey all, I'm pretty new to the site but I am trying to find a exhaust that would be good for my 97 v6 camaro. I was looking at some magnaflows, flowmasters, and borla exhaust systems but wasn't really sure what to go for. I don't want to buy an exhaust that will end up taking power away from my car. so can you guys help me out in this area? I do want have the deepish growl to it, but in the end performance matters more to me than the overall sound of my car.

Thanks

As far as muffler alone, you won't expect power gains you can feel. Mufflers are more about the sound you want. Borla sounds awesome but for the price meh. Magnaflow sounds good and doesn't rape your wallet. Flow master, meh. Are you looking to do just mufflers?catback? Or full exhaust?
Most people on the forum like to go with magnaflow. Solid product, good sound and quality and middle of the rode pricing FYi.

I'm really looking for a cat-back or a full exhaust but I'm not really sure yet, I am kinda leaning towards a cat-back at the moment

If that's the case I would highly recommend magnaflow.

Thanks for the help, is there any certain site that you would recommend buying from as far as price goes? or would sticking with someone like amazon just be easier?

Jegs and summit racing have pretty solid pricing. I think I got mine from jegs back when I had my trans am.
I did see cincyperformancestore.com is running a sale on it though which had a cheaper price with the sale. Without the sale it is a bit more expensive.

Even the OBX catback would work, pretty similar to the magnaflow but cheaper

I'm just wondering if you know or not, but other than sound would I feel one more than the other when I press on the pedal? I know as far as exhaust go, you dont gain a lot of power but im just a little curious. Also how does the OBX catback sound?

Search those mufflers on YouTube and listen to some uploaded sound clips. Then pick one you like.
