so randomly about a week ago my exhaust started rattling against the crossmember and its driving me nuts. i bought an exhaust clamp and put it on but it came off last night when i was driving. why the heck did it start rattling all of a sudden? i changed the transmission mount and noticed the noise afterwards so i checked the tranny mount and its fine....im stumped :dunno:
same thing with me know since I put the headers in theirs a noice that is driving me crazy and I cant find it becasue each time I drive I hear it but when I look for it it stops.
Guys I have this same problem, it was right after I installed my new exhaust. A friend of mine who is a mechanic looked at it and told me it was my cat. Is it like a hollow noise?
When the car cools down, if you can get underneath it, start knockin or shakin the exhaust to see if you can find it. Hitting the cats will tell you right away if that's the culprit.
found one of mine today and fixed it, it was actually one of the y-pipe supports that was wrong. Now the second rattle sound should be my o2 sensor that I think its bad but I wont know until I take it out and see if it makes the same noice each time I move the exhaust.
I kinda have a "humming" noise every now and then... I can only assume it has something to do with the exhaust.
