cam information?

ok I just bought this 98 Camaro its got a 3800 series 2 can anyone tell me what the factory grind would be on the cam the car has 380k+ so im pullin motor and trans to rebuild...don't wanna be a hot rod but if im gonna replace stuff might as well bump it up a step or too

Hah, it was a shot in the dark but I found it!

Stock GM Camshaft:
182°Exhaust/190°Intake Duration, Lift .258" Intake/.255" Exhaust, 115° LSA, 111° Centerline, Valve lift of .413" Intake, .408" Exhaust with stock rocker ratio (1.6).

Good luck on the rebuild! Make sure you use a good melling oil pump rebuild kit and replace the oil filter bypass plunger and spring. Make sure that is really clean! It is notorious for getting stuck open with debris and oil sludge, sending unfiltered oil into the mains, washing the bearings and resulting in spun mains/rod bearings.

There's some that don't require much of a tune. Usually the GT1 cam or some baby cam. Anything larger will require a retune as it starts throwing codes from higher engine noise.

Honestly, you could send the pcm in for a mail order tune if you go with a bigger cam or find somebody locally with hptuners to tune it properly. I have no idea where you're located, but there's options out there.
