Engine ticking sound and A/C rattle

I thought I would just make 1 thread for these 2 issues.

2000 Firebird V6 3.8 with 135k miles

My car has a slight ticking sound coming from the engine. I think it's a lifter, but I'm not too sure. Rislone seemed to help. (It was actually louder when I first got the car.)

Here's a video

Also, my A/C rattles when I turn it on and it makes a whining sound when I press on the gas. It still blows cold air though. Would I need to replace it?

Here's the video of the rattle (lower your volume lol.)

How can you hear a lifter "tick" with that a/c noise?? Holy smoke!!! You sure that noise is the a/c? Could be pulley. To me, sounds like maybe power steering pump going out or very low on fluid.

The tick is a lifter, the A/C compressor has failed and needs to be replaced.
( and is probably making the coldest air it ever has )

Are the low oil and other lights always on?

The first video is the one that has the tick. The A/C is off on that one.
The noise is annoying though lol.

I'll be trying out Marvel Mystery oil next. Maybe it will get better.
And damn, time for a new A/C I guess.

No, the lights turn off after a few seconds.

Thanks for the help guys.

Oh, my bad, I didn't watch the first video. Ok, just watched first video. For sure not power steering, cos it would have made the second video noise all the time, well, with engine running.

Yeah. Well, at least the tick isn't as serious like my A/C. :/

careful with the mystery oil, it lowers the oil pressure some because it's so thin.
Rislone is a better additive to try.

Will do. As soon as I change the oil again, i'll post back on how the noise is.

Alright. Once I add it to new oil, i'll flush it out around 1,500 miles or so. Just to be on the safe side.

Thanks again for the input!
