Are you snapping the throttle to the floor or easing into it.

it does it both ways. i never floor it from a deadstop. only when im moving. ive had this issue before with another car and it was a simple fix. i just dont know with this one. my car is a lil temperamental

at first i thought the clutch might be slipping but the rpms dont rise when it happens.

Chain auto part stores will test an ICM for free, just have them run the test several times to heat the ICM up some.

Its going to be hard for your buddy to tune your car right if your having drivability issues now, find/fix your current problem then tune.

i dont understand what you mean chain auto stores. like parks and advance and stores like that?

im wondering if your right about the icm. when i bought it the car. the no1 wire was fried so bad it frail and cracking. dunno if that has anything to do with it or might shed some light on possible causes. can a icm going bad cause that.

so just called around and almost all the shops that had equipment to test it said if its not throwing a light that they cant test it cuz it wont show anything

O'Rielly has the proper adapter and it does not matter if the SES light is not on, remove it and they will test anything. SES light does not have to be on to test a part. The light does not come on when the alternator or battery is going out, but still testable. I had the same issue and it was the ICM.

Well you can keep throwing parts at it hoping for a fix, or you can pay for a diagnostic and then fix it correctly.
These cars have computers that keep track of engine parameters for a reason.

Sorry for your frustration. While you may not think that a diagnosis is an expensive way to go, it sometimes gets incorporated into the repair. It is best to get a diagnosis by a GM dealership. If there is any other concern you would like to share, please feel free to contact me via PM.

if coils, plugs, wires, ICM all test out, id move onto MAF, cat, Fuel filter, fuel regulator/injectors.

what plugs are you running.

BTW GMs 90 diagnostic is a rip off, can you personally let them know? thats exactly what our country needs right now, 100 bucks to say heres your SES light.
