tire change issue

my front drivers side tire and passenger have no tread and there is wire poking out and it sounds like im driving a flat when driving.
anywyas looked up the tires and looks like they are hard to find in stock at stores, they are 235 55/r16

the only ones i can really find affordable are 225 60/r16
is that safe. its only a 10 millimeter difference i believe.

wierd enough i get 2 options on tire size when i enter my 98 firebird v6 coupe in

i get 235 55/r16 or
215 55/r16

so basically the difference is about 50 dollars and 10 mms. can i just go right in the middle where it stays affordable

if a 215 is safe a 225 should be even safer ssince i cant afford 235s

Yes that should be safe. Just make sure the total hight of the tire is the same or as close as you can

Had the same thing on my fronts, picked up a couple of used 235 firestones for 40 bucks a tire, spun and mounted on the car...you'd be surprised at what peeps take off thier cars as not enuf tread, cuz these have lots of life left
