I'm looking at a 91 Formula with a 5.0 tpi engine. It has a ticking noise coming from the passenger side of the engine that sounds like a lifter. You can hear it at idle but it goes away as the rpm's increase. The issue I'm having is that it doesn't go away as the engine warms up like I would think a lifter would do. The owner says that it started making the noise after the intake was resealed. Any ideas or suggestions on what it might be or how to diagnose?
Not if it is stuck.
Like I said, I've had one clicking for 40k miles.
Hot, cold 60 psi oil pressure regardless of what additive I've tried.
Got it to stop once with some Rislone, but it came back.
I'm not going to pull the plenum on an an engine with 176K miles on it to change a lifter.
I'll just wait till rebuild time.
My bad .. I posted earlier n forgot which thread I was on
305 TBI, T5, TB spacer, 1.6 rockers, lots of suspension upgrades, 4:10 gears, posi ,ram air, headers, full 3" exhaust
