My lock rod had some sort of small plastic bushing type thing on the lock itself.. Take pictures of his lock set up currently. Ill let you know. I just replaced my door, so i had to switch my lock. I could compare the two for you.

OK. She currently has nothing attached to the rod. And that's my issue lol. Lots of ways to replace a cylinder but no one tells you where or how to replace the parts between the rod and cylinder. I will take pics tonight. Thanks for your help.

Basically all the mechanism is doing is pulling the rod up or down to lock and unlock?

Yeah. The rod in the door panel goes into a box, that box transfers the forward and back into an up and down motion. Where it connects, it literally, (on mine) just pops into the hole on the end of the cylinder.

I will have to make something that will connect the 2 or pull one from a junk yard. That black clip won't cut it lol. Thanks for your help. I will post back once I figure it out.
Edit: yes it helped. At least gives me an plan of attack before I get there tonight. Much appreciated

Anytime. My lock cylinder as you can see, has a flat bar coming out of the side for the rod to connect. Guessing its not quite the same as a 92.

Just wanted to give an update. Took both doors off since the passenger side still works. It looks exactly like yours. So that black piece won't work. I am pretty sure advance auto has the metal connector so that is my next step. Once I get that its pretty straight forward. Thanks again for your help. I will post back if the new piece fits in case someone stumbles on this thread with the same issue.
