finally got my baby back

I finally got it back on the road after redoing the whole top end, a new distributor, and a timing set. Time to find a timing light to get the distributor timed perfectly, she's doing some sputtering and backfiring going down the road

And now nothing. Driving home yesterday from the shop it backfired and shut off, now it won't fire back up. I'm getting fire to and from the coil, the wiring from the ignition control module to the coil is getting fire but the wiring from the harness in the firewall to the icm is not. No blown fuses, and it's getting fuel. Any idea where the wiring that comes through the firewall is actually coming from, ecm maybe? Could my computer be shot to shit? But from it backfiring, Idk. I'm almost positive timing hasn't jumped again seeing as the timing chain and both gears are new and we're set perfectly in time. Help please, I'm sick of driving this Damn minivan

I had the same problem. Took off the engine cover to find my crank gear broke... Hopefully yours is different.

Well it's all brand new timing so that would really suck. It did this while it was still on the shop and the problem was that it had jumped time when it back fired but I could see why that happened once I got the cover off

Ok. So i thought it was the new distributor, I put the original back in and it did start but it didn't run well. Got another new one under warranty and put it in, still isn't running well at all. Does anyone if the larger plug going to the ICM should be hot? Because I'm beginning to think its an electrical problem, of that plug is supposed to have power going through it then I will know where to start tracing wires
