Just not working

Hi there. I'm looking for some help with my 87 G.T.A. The 5.7 tpi w/700 r4 tranny is out of
a 1987 IROC Z-28. This vehicle was in a car accident, but the motor still cranked good. I
transferred the 5.7 into the 87 G.T.A. several years ago. The 5.7 has never ran the way it did when it was in the Camaro. I've frequently started and kept fuel stabilizer in the gas. Now that I have the time to finally get this going, I could use some advice. Just as first installed, motor runs terrible past idle, same when I drive it. Was thinking maybe the guy that I got the rolling body from, may have took something crucial off the car body. Since the Camaro has cable drivin speedo, G.T.A. is electronic, I know I have some issues to address. I also tried to scan it, last weekend, scanner said vehicle not responding.
I don't know where to start, checked timing too. Any help would be appreciated.
Much appreciated, GTA Joe.........
