rocker arm adjust

I have heard at least 3 different ways on how to adjust the rocker arms in my 350. Have at least one tapping like the nut has backed off. I want to go through and adjust all of them. When I get down on it and my 4-barrel kicks in it sounds like all of them are rattling. What do y'all say?

Adjust the lash with the motor running. Back the nuts off until the rockers start tapping then tighten them until the tapping stops then go another quarter turn and lock them.

If the 4 barrel kicking in makes the lifters sound like they're rattling I would suspect a pinging / pre-ignition issue.

If a lifter / rocker is rattling constantly it's more likely a stuck lifter than a loosened adjustment nut.

Caused by fauly ignition timing or running cheap ( low octane ) gas or both.
