Starter problems

Hello so I'm in a crapy spot went to pick up my friend after work to go see a movie took the firebird got to his house and he won't start so I jack the car up hit the starter a few times and now the starter will spin but nothing else so question is do I just replace the starter... Is the flywheel toast? It's a 92 trans am with the 305 and the 700r4 money is tight so please don't throw out huge expensive parts

Sounds to me like the starter isn't engaging like it should if you take it off I know most auto part sites can test them and make sure they are spinning and engaging correctly

I know exactly what you mean. I'm making it worse for myself. Staying up to work on my car then staying up later than I planned because someone wants to buy the toolbox off my old truck, then is back in to work to pull a 16+ running on fumes. The price we pay to make that $$$$$

Frame rails. I usually only drive lifted trucks but I've always liked this body style so I figured what the heck, why not. And I've already been stuck once in this car :l in a driveway nonetheless

That's kinda neat. My girlfriend usually doesn't like cars but she likes this one. She was raised on a farm so I reckon shes just used to trucks, but shes got a little hatchback Mazda3 and that thing will run. If she knew how to use the slap shift she might give this camaro a run for my money

I got a remaned duralast starter that was meant for my wifes 86. Never installed it. If it will fit just pay the shipping and I'll send it to you. We don't need it.

Dont worry, my wife calls her SS a he too, mostly because he's bee, shes a huge G1 transformers fan.

Even though "he's" a robot, I supposed Arcee is a fem bot. It works.
