2001 camaro Z-28 oil Consumption

01 Z-28 LS1 uses qt of oil every 10 days but does not leak anywhere . Bottom of the engine bone dry. It runs perfect but when ran hard black smoke out the back. Has always done it even with 35000 miles on it now having 95000 miles. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions? Plugs don't foul out....

PCV system SUCKS on those cars. A catch can may help, as well as upgrading to an LS6 valley cover.

It's an 01.. It should already have an LS6 intake and valley cover.
To the OP. I have an 01 SS, only issue I have with oil is the cracked oil pan, which leaks a little. Doesn't really "use" oil. Leaks half a quart between oil changes.

Either way, you can't go wrong with a catch can.

I am thinking about a different valley cover then, because it didn't come on the F-Body's in factory form.
Been years, can't recall.

Just looked it up. It is an LS6 valley cover, it is an updated version that none of the F-Body's ever got. 2004 and newer.

^^^^ true,. Also said mine was leaking cause of a cracked oil pan. His may not be leaking, but it has to be going somewhere. OP said it smokes under hard driving, if he drives hard all the time, then ? If it smokes maybe the rings are shot. And is getting blow by.
