ASR button

Hey guys I have an 02 Z28 and it doesn't have the ASR traction control switch and so I was wondering if I just bought the switch and plugged it in if it would work or even if I'm better off without it. Any input is appreciated.

Uh, what? 6 speed Manual cars DO come with ASR (anti slip regulation) (aka: traction control), as did my SS.
Edit: maybe you're thinking of the SGS (second gear start) switch, which is for the automatics.

^Same here
Lovin my Z: connecting the switch will not mean you have traction control, the vehicle would have been equipped with it from the factory

And this, which I failed to mention in my previous post.

Mine didn't and it has anti ABS and cruise control.
But you are right about thinking about the SGS.

My SS also has cruise control. I think they threw every option available at my SS.

Plugging in the switch will not work.
You would need the rearend that has it as well.

I ended up ordering the Moser 9" for my WS.6 without ABS/TCS (TCS=ACR) because.....who needs that crap?

You don't want it!

I had it in my 98 Z M6, and I have it now in my 01 SS M6. Pain! Can't remember which car had low trac, but that kicked in for me just fine.. is that a part of ASR? or is there a difference between them.

I'll I know is, with both cars, I've stalled at the tree because I've forgotten to turn it off warming up the tires.. getting laughed at on the line blows, doh! I've looked into the reverse ASR thing you can buy, but never been a huge problem for me to buy it.. Hec, wonder if I can do that with my HP tuners.. I'll have to see..

One of the first things I do after start-up is turn off the ASR...... Unless I'm driving is inclement weather, then I'll leave it on.

I don't even notice it anymore.. I'm such a casual driver these days. I might hit it by accident messing around with my fogs..

I always felt as though the traction control created MORE problems in shitty weather/conditions. I was trying to get my TBSS up a hill when I first bought it (didn't know where the stupid button was yet) and I ended up having to turn the truck around....traction control (stabiliCrap) kept kicking in.
I get the purpose, but I can see issues with it as well. Certain instances can create an accident....
