Can I put the 243 heads on my lq9? I believe it's the 243s correct me if I'm wrong

The 243's are ls6 heads, they would increase compression over stock. What other mods are on your 6.0 now? Throw a big cam with the 243's, ls6 intake manifold and long tubes on it.

Aren't the LQ9 heads and LS6 heads the same casting? Isn't everything the same except for the cc size?

I thought the newer 5.3 799's were similar to 243's. not sure which heads come on the lq9. The smaller combustion chamber would bump up compression and add a little more power.

Do you have the 317 heads?

Does your LQ9 have its heads? If you have a long block with the heads, I would just use those. Maybe get those ported and polished and worked on for more performance. There are super high performance heads out there for all of performance, are you looking for something like that? Because I think you can get a lot out of what you already might have, (If you have the LQ9 heads.) and it would be less of a hit in the wallet.

He could also mill the heads a couple hundredths to get to a higher compression ratio

Best heads?
What is the budget? Guessing GM factory offerings aren't what you are looking for.

I think it is time to find yourself spending a couple of days reading up on everything about those cars. I am more than willing to answer questions, but it feels like you have asked several questions and didn't really take the advice to heart.

What cam are you installing? Or having installed?
