it all depends on how you drive. Ive had the "stock" 10 bolt in my car for ten years. The only thing i have done to it is put 3.73 gears in it. It has been on the strip alot over the years and has ran a best of mid 11s.
If you are prone to hard launches, clutch drops and such, that 10 bolt will not last long..
That is usually caused because the ring and pinion backlash and pinion depth and preload aren't set properly.
Best done by an experienced professional.
I think I'm just going to put in the 370's on the stock ten bolt the local machine shop will rebuild for 900 any comments on what company to go with I'm thinking GM
I'm soon a cam swap on stock heads and juss want a temp gear change I'll put on a 12 bolt when I do a full rebuild in the future I know it sounds like a waste but I can sell tht rear end for like 600 at least
