Starting to get my car ready for the summer and will be re-sealing the door panels back to the frame as they currently do not sit flush with the rear quarters. Just curious on what is the best product to use to glue the panels back to the frame. Any opinions or advice is welcome!
Some use a Velcro that has glue - placing strips on both the door frame and panel. It's a smaller - thinner Velcro but allows for removal without scraping old glue, cleaning and re-gluing each time. Not sure if the make but you can find it in the Classic Camaro catalog. Good luck
Are you talking about the exterior skin? I think that should be a Urethane glue. You'll have to remove the whole skin though, and pray you don't break it. Then sand down the mating surfaces to remove the old glue and any fragments of fiberglass, apply the glue and set it up.band clamps will be your friends here, just use spacers to make sure you aren't putting too much pressure on the edges, as that will snap them off, and you'll be worse off than you are right now.
My car had the same issue with the driver door when I got it, I tried to just repair the part coming off with a two part epoxy. That held for a bit but as mentioned to really fix the issue you have to carefully remove the entire skin and clean the original adhesive/fiberglass off then reattach the skin. I used the strongest two part urathane I could find. That was 4 or so years ago I've had no issues since, but my car also practically never sees the light of day either.
