Recirculating overflow tank for 67 radiator

I just got a beautiful stainless overflow tank for my radiator. This is a recirculating tank and has two outlets. There is only the single overflow tube from the radiator so I am trying to figure out how to hook it up. I got it from JEGS and there were NO instructions and not even a picture!

Are the outlets on the over flow tank on the top and bottom?

I've only ever seen those used just as an overflow catch for at the dragstrip since they require it. I've never seen them actually hooked up to feed back into the system. I'm not even sure that is possible. I have one also that I have never hooked up yet. I just let mine go on the street.

I have one for the reason Mark mentioned its required on the track. Mine has ports on the top and bottom so I put a tee fitting on the bottom and put a clear hose connecting top and bottom then ran the overflow line to the canister. That way I can see the level of coolant in the overflow.

I'd imagine that wouldnt "clean" in a nice engine bay (no offense).

OP- Look for a some sort of fitting to block the top off.
