Running really cold and bogging a bit

I have a 77 z28 and the temp gauge always stays basically right above the 100 mark, unless the heat is off and I'm on the highway. The car has also just started bogging down a little bit on acceleration. So I have a few questions.

1. What temp thermostat should I put in?
2. Is it possible that the distributor cap has turned a little bit causing the bogging due to shitty road construction on my daily commute?
3. Should my carb be adjusted for winter temperatures, and could that be my problem with the bogging down over the past 2 days being around 20 outside?

I'm new to a full carburetor setups, only had TBI's so I'm not too familiar with this stuff. Any help is greatly appreciated.

2, possible but unlikely unless it wasn't tightened properly.
Also, it's not the cap that would turn but the whole distributor.
3. No. The adjustment is the same all year.
Make sure the choke opens properly when the engine is warm.

Alrighty, I'll get the new thermostat today and hopefully the temp gauge reads higher. Maybe the guy I got it from took the thermostat out?

Also check your air/fuel mixture on the carb.

What carb do you have? Quadrajunk, carter/edelbrock or a holley?
