When I replaced the stock rubber bushings with polyurethane ones on my lower control arms on my 71 camaro I found out that I had a hard time trying to get the arm back in place because when the original bolts were installed they must have over tightened them reducing the space for the arm to fit back in
I solved that by making a spreader
Out of allthread and nuts and washers
Double nut the allthread on one side
So you can hold it with a wrench
While you use the nut and washer on the opposite side (the washer acts as a bearing) to spread the mounting ears apart
Use the largest allthread that you can find to fit the holes that the bolts were installed
Cheap and easy tool to make and use!
I don't have a port o power hydraulic
spreader so this worked great
