Can anyone give me any pointers for removing the console (a4) out of a 96 Camaro? I've managed to undo all the bolts and have the shift knob off but can't seem to get it to clear where the radio is. I've removed the radio bezel and the e-brake is all the way up but it somehow still gets caught up underneath when I'm trying to pull it out. Since the car is in storage with the battery out, is there anyway I could move the gear shift without having to start the car up (have tried pressing the brake pedal and trying to shift it without any luck) or, better yet, without moving the shifter at all?
Also, how do you unplug the cigarette lighter/ASR? I can't seem to get a good look at it from behind. Is it possible to pop the front plate out and get at it from there?
Sorry for the long post, but I've been trying to take the console out for quite a few hours now and am one step away from breaking the damn thing lol!
Thanks for any suggestions!
