Default Headlight conversion

is it worth doing the fixed headlight conversion for a 98 firebird ? and has anyone else done it yet?

depends.. do you want your car to look like ***? if you don't care about how the car looks, it is worth it... IMO, its too much work and it costs too much for something that will make the car look worse. I have not seen one that did not look horrible. it looks like you broke your light, and this is teh best you can fix it.

If you can justify spending $1k.

I cannot.

Pop-ups can be a PITA, but then again they're just so f**king awesome and somewhat unique these days. I would rather have to fiddle with them once in awhile than spend a ton of money to get rid of them.

^None of the front body panels line up...
It looks like it has the same conversion as posted above that, but with a painted/decal strip on the top portion.

The 1998 Firehawk is the only "fixed headlights" I like.

Well besides the sorry body lines and what not, I mean out of all the ones that google threw at me this one was tolerable..

I don't think those look all that bad, and I don't think the kit for the LT1 model look bad either. Now they're not worth the price but if you were willing to throw it down I think it'd look pretty good. Guess I'm in the minority on this one though lol

For 93-97 it looks nice. For 98-02 it's not worth it. Ugly, expensive, the lenses crack, and they have terrible light output.

The only way I would do it, is if I had money to burn and my car was black. I'd buy a good HID kit for the projector lens and smoke the lens so it almost resembles ordinary flip up headlights. Even then.....that's too much work and too much $$

I think you should leave the flip headlights. With the headlight conversion, it would look kinda like something Paul Walker would do. Flip headlights are unique and makes the car look more aggressive in m opinion

If it does not have flip up headlights, it is not a firebird.

Plain and simple.

A short while ago,I coulda pik'd up a brand new Fix'd headlight kit with HID's etc for 500$ off a buddy.
As a result of photo-shoping sum stuff for a preview, and with the overwhelming consensus on this site......I opted out & didnt do it.
Glad these Fbody guys talked me outta it cuz Im an impulse buyer & they are pretty gaudy look'n.
Id leave ur H.Lights as is man...just my opinion tho.
