polishing

Hey guys i'm polishing up my center lines and they have some sort of corrosion on them. I am not sure from what! My question is do I have to continue polishing until they eventually polish up or maybe wet sand? Idk D: thanks!

Start with a tougher grit(dry), then work your way to 2000 (wet) and then polish. I'm assuming there's no clear coat on these wheels right?
