projector headlights

I got aftermarket headlights from a guy on craigslist. They look cool when you are looking at them but when driving they offer no visibility. It shows reflectors and road signs. Part of this is because they arent aimed right (different question) but part of it is that they only seem to give light in a circle.

I dont know what type of lights these are. I think halogen? I know they arent stock and they arent hid. I have two questions. They may relate.

1. Is there a way to fix the lack of visibility?

2. when adjusting the headlight vertically it seems like the adjuster screw is about as loose as it can get without coming out, but the light is still aimed really high. Do they have longer adjuster screws?

I do have the vertical and horizontal screws in the right holes. The light is in right side up.

Ya. I found the same set on ebay. Is there a way to make them light up better or should I go stock and cut my losses? Think I could sell these?

What you got aren't projectors. They're shitty halogen lamp housings with a glass lens on two metal poles. They are only meant to resemble projectors... My advice is to sell them to some other sucker and buy a set of proper headlights, like Late Model Classics (LMC) truck housings or BLS Hella projector retrofits.

LMC housings: Custom Dual Headlights | 1988-89 Chevrolet Pickup Trucks 1988-89 GMC Pickup Trucks | LMC Truck
BLS projectors (I have their low beam kit, purchased in a group buy on LS1tech so it was cheaper than MSRP): Blackbird Lighting Solutions
