Been looking for new dash cap for 98 Z28, trying ebay too. BUT, here is my stupid question.. my car is white and black with gray interior. seats and carpet are GRAY, the dash also looks to be very dark gray. all i can find are black dash caps... did the originals come in a dark gray or is this just faded and used to be black? also, how do i know who to trust on ebay, i never used it before.
thanks!
Sincerely,
Lori

EGay has a fairly simple rating method. High percentage of positive feedback is a good thing. Normally will not even consider a seller unless 98% or better. I assume not every transaction is perfect and that some people can NEVER be pleased, so some good sellers may have a ding or two. Multiple issues though....

As for the interior, you will likely want to get the RPO code for your interior color. It is likely neutral (gray) by the way you described it, but you want to make sure. RPO codes are on the driver's door, big sticker with multiple 3 digit (alphanumeric) codes.
I will have to look up the interior codes for GM....

I believe all of the dash caps are the same color, which is a dark gray.
When I ordered mine from the dealer, they didn't even ask what color.

thanks Luos and Navy! i just went out and looked at it again, its a very dark gray and some other interior parts are lighter.. sort of two tone decor, lol, so i bet the dashcaps are all one darker color.. but will go look for that code too.. want to get it right the first time. i appreciate your information about ebay as well..
Sincerely,
Lori

You have a 98. Charcoal interior. 97-99 had the same color grey.
Be sure you get an OEM dash pad, and not one of those over priced caps/covers.

thanks.. charcoal certainly describes it! that means that the ones on ebay are differant, i guess they will fit as they give a range of years greater than 97-99, but wrong colour, they all say black or ebony, the only gray one was for 2000. and yes, they sneak in the cover thingies when you do a search, its annoying.. i cant find any stores online that sell them, some say they ave OEM GM parts but not these items once you look, ackkk. need a new driver side visor too. otherwise interior is pretty nice.
well it isnt urgent, so i guess i just keep an eye on ebay and hope one shows up... oh, do you all know of a site thst sells NEW OEM stuff ?
thanks again!
Lori
