T-top change up, please HELP

I bought a set of tops, paid a hundred bucks, but when I got home with them, realized that the pin style is different, after some researching, found that the 90-92 style has a larger round pin. The glass fits perfect with the seals, just doesnt latch tightly, even after adjusting the receivers for the pins, question is, after looking at the two different tops, it looks like all the latching/seals/hardware is just glued to the glass with that black windshield gasket stuff. Has anyone ever attempted to swap the hardware between the two? The reason I want the new glass is because the original plexi glass it ugly as crap and really sticks out like a sore thumb when they are on the car, not to mention drivers side is cracked and has a huge bead of gorilla glue holding it together. the glass ones I picked up are very nice looking. Any suggestions? Other than paying the 300+ to get the right ones that will probably be the plexi glass type that I don't want. What if I got a set of receivers from a 89 and earlier? What does yours look like guys? 89 and earlier. Mine have two bolts that adjust up and down, in and out to get the top to sit just right when latched.

I'm off shore at the moment and can't exactly take any pictures to post, but I will if that's what it takes, just have to wait 2 weeks for me to get them posted when I return home. Do any of you guys know what I'm talking about as far as the pin size? On the ones that fit my car are about 3/4" diameter. The ones in the pre 90's tops are only about 1/4"
