Raleigh Repair Needed

Hello everyone,

Long time no post here. So I need help finding someone that can reseal my back window on my '02 SS. Everytime I shut the hatch the window jumps a bit. I can also feel an air current when I don't have the air or heat on. The places I've called just want to replace the glass instead of resealing it. I have lots of Army stickers you can't find anymore on there. Please help me find a place that can help.

you could do it yourself... all the necessary tools are sold at Harbor Freight, and you can find the sealant on Amazon.

looks like GM still carries the exterior trim. Items 2 and 3 on the illustration, but they are not cheap. maybe use those part numbers to find them elsewhere.

I just need to get the urethane and learn to reseal the window. This is something I'd like a professional to do because it's uncharted teritory and I'm strapped on my budget.

You're not going to be able to find a shop that will re-seal without installing new glass. They just don't do it unless you're willing to pay about 3x their usual replacement fee.

If you just want it to be sealed against air and don't care about the strength of the seal, remove the interior trim and lay a bead of silicone caulk from Lowe's around the edge of the glass and the metal frame of the hatch.

Whoa whoa whoa. You don't use silicone to seal a window.... ever. It's urethane only. Silicone and urethane do not mix. I'm sure I'll find someone to do it. I've read of shops doing a reseal for an average of $150.

The air current that comes through there at 45 mph freezes me in the winter, and the 8" of water that gathered back there didn't help none either.
