well started it to let the juices run since it's been sitting all winter, I also ripped out all the seats except for the drivers, and have been loading it up with parts that I've piled up

You're YOUNG, enjoy it - make it great. And best of luck on the interview- signed AARP ROCKER - still working, feeling 38, but carrying ID that's says I'm 56 next month. LOL

I've been driving this car when it's warm a 93 z28 put about 1000 miles on it didn't drive it in the winter because the engine wouldn't get up to temp so I assumed I needed a new thermostat so I went to replace it and it turns out there wasn't even a thermostat in it and went 1500 miles without one 😷

Ya, missing T-stat will let the coolant flow too fast.

You shouldn't have hurt anything tho. I went thru the same thing with my '92. Was also the T-stat, but it was stuck open. That will also cause the same symptom.

To stay on topic: I did nothing. I am In Florida on vacation and haven't even moved it since I parked it here, Saturday night.

Started her up in preparation to put back on the road for spring, and off comes a heater core hose.... Didn't overheat according to the gauge so hoping for the best...

Working on issues with gauge lights - 2 work, 4 don't. Weird, next step turn the main light pull lever and see if 2 are on but "dim" and the smaller 4 just below dim. Oh - it's a 1st Gen. at first I was annoyed - but I kinda like little problems and learning through trial & error.

Found out my block is beyond repair so I called her filthy names then later apologized while lovingly caressing her.
