1978 Camaro or 2013 Camaro SS

Who would win, my 78 or a 2013 Camaro ss with tune, cold air and cat back with magna flows? What would it take?

2013 would dominate assuming the 78 is mostly stock.

Lol was a trick question. Just seeing what responses would be. Looks like this site is not full of haters. That's good. Tried to delete other post first but couldn't.

Well here is the vid. Ran .9 sec and 10 mph faster. I let him go first to see if I could run him down. I think I pulled the sleeper theme off really well. What do you guys think? He had tune, cat back with magna flow, and cold air. I have a gen 1 sbc. Was my worst night in a long time, but I did get a 95 mph pass in. Was 65*, but dropped to 58, 95% humidity and 1900' altitude. Car weighs 3659 with me. Round trip was 148 miles to track and back, so she is street worthy and I drive her over 100 miles a week. TRUE SLEEPER?

You beat that 13 only because it weighs 300-400lbs more than your car. Your cam makes it hard for me to call it a sleeper. Really I wouldn't classify any V8 camaro or firebird a sleeper.

That was him you were hearing. Mine is mouse quiet. I outran him by .9 sec and 10 mph. Also gave a half second head start in case you didnt notice. Was .3 slower than usual time for me too. Not hardly just bc of 3-400 lbs that's only .3-.4 and 3-4 mph. My def of sleeper is when the new cars pull up they assume they have a victim

I think most peoples definition of a sleeper is a car that has little to no reputation for being fast, but in fact, will blow the doors off your car.

My definition of sleeper is falling into a coma during threads created to see if this site is "full of haters".

My bad i didnt know late second gens were known for blowing the doors off other cars. I always considered them the slow redheaded stepchild of the f-bodies.
I was just seeing if this site was worth hangin around. A lot of others are low information sites that cant answer questions, but quick to judge. Or make a stupid comment about your thread bc they cant think of anything intelligent to say.

My feelings are hurt.

I am sorry Flex. Your car is fast and a sleeper. Can we be friends again?

Lol.. You have a sense of humor... So yes. I just hate sites where you post and all you get is bs. I like sites where you can bs and also have serious questions too. Most in my experience have trolls that just want to put others down. We can all get along and im easy going. I see cars twice as fast as me all the time. I pat them on the back and tell em great job, that doesnt come natural to most. There are two types of people in that sense, im looking for people like me. The only reason one cant compliment another is jealousy. If your car is faster than mine i dont make excuses i help us make em both faster

I have to ask. What all has been done to your car? I remember seeing you say mostly stock but your timeslips are pretty impressive for mostly stock.

If you thought it was mostly stock i either made a mistake or typo or it was misread. Sorry if it was my bad. It is stock except motor and trans. Meaning suspension steering accessories and interior is stock. Weighs 3659. Has a 396 smallblock and i built the 350th. Chirps second and third on shift. Still has 2k stalll. Doing suspension, stall, and slicks this winter. I dont want to misrepresent i spent 3 months alone on motor and trans. These are no where near stock. Drove it for a year with the 305 and my v6 buick was outrunning it. I never race on street, but i couldnt go to walmart without a camaro, mustang, or any punk with a fart cannon revving, spinning tires and trying to get me to race. Funny i have never seen one of them at track. My turn now...lol

Thanks guys! So I wont call it a sleeper. I will just say that it gets picked on by any car with a tag, but the outcome always surprises them. It's funny i see cars racing through the pits to get beside me my first pass everytime, then i'm stuck racing trailer queens the rest of the night. I guess to clarify these guys think it's a sleeper or so they said.

Example: this guy was parked at front of pits. I got in my car and he was 30' from his car. By the time I got to staging lane he was beside me. He was twice as loud and had cam for sure.
My carb is all you hear on mine practically.

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tFLF32C0lGo

Then this guy twice

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-1PVQgld0Rw

He jumped big time here. See red light. Had me by .2 60' but I outran him by .001 and 5mph.

I hear ya on calling it a sleeper, but what about the zl1 i out ran this weekend, does the supercharger add that much weight? Ran a 7.67 to his 8.2 1mph faster than him. Must have been my street tires are lighter being 15's instead of his 20's or whatever they are. Ran a 7.59 too.
