In a perfect world: around 9, maybe a little less. But this world isn't perfect. A lot of variables, altitude, reaction time, auto or manual trans, a lot rides on ET's.

9 seconds sounds about right. For whatever you think of Road & Track magazine and their drivers. They tested a stock 95 Z28 with a six speed manual and a 3.42 rear end. And got 14.8 1/4 mile and 8.1 sec 0-500 ft. So many add a second and some change to that 8.1 maybe 2 seconds, depends on your skills.

Are you sure you got the correct year there? I've read a stock 94 z28 runs 13.9ish

Those are the numbers from my Road & Track book. Check out the pics. But there's only less than a second between the time you said and the one Road & Track published. And a lot of reasons for that possible difference. Driver skill/error, track conditions & weather, auto vs manual, perhaps timing equipment back in 1995 isn't as accurate, etc.

I just left the local track. My stock 94 Z28 has a K&N filter and a muffler delete. I ran 14.44 in the quarter. Mine is an auto maybe a manual would be a little faster.

I believe it. If you're a good driver and get good conditions I can see even high 13s like you said in your other post on this thread.

Manual wont be faster, you can't out shift a computer, there are very few people good enough at shifting that will get a time faster than and otherwise similar car. Even if they could make 1 run faster chances of doing it consistently are very slim.

If you can hook up off the line, it will run around the 9.20's in the 1/8.

When mine was bone stock, it ran 9.20 @ 78 mph at the 1/8 with a 2.13 60'

I know the feeling, I wanted to get some runs with the turbo setup but rained out again this weekend.

Is that hooking off the line? Sorry but that's a terrible 60'

I was going to ask the same thing lol. My 60 foot times were all under 2 seconds spinning pretty bad on street tires

My 60' time was 2.13 as well. I was going easy off the line though, kept spinning on street tires.
