So I've been lurking around the new app for a few months and have been learning a lot about my 2000 Pontiac Firebird from some of the great tech gurus and I have figured I might as well start my own little thread for my car! To start off it is a 2000 firebird, y87 performance package, 3.8 v6, black leather and chrome 16" rims. The car was given to my older sister as a high school graduation present from my grand paw. My sister already had a little pick up truck... And me being so interested in cars... Guess who gets to drive it when we got the car, it was a hunk of junk... More things wrong than good. We replaced window motors, knock sensors, stripped bubbling tint, replaced tensioner pulley, replaced radiator and the list goes on... Most things have been done by a shop but I have recently been turning my own wrenches with the help of the forum ( I'm only 16 and a junior in hs). So far I have done the radiator, lower intake and valve cover gaskets, replaced the brake pads and rotors and installed a flip up 7" touch screen headunit with 2 12" CVRs and a 2000 watt amp and fixed the other odds and ends that were wrong with the car... As far as performance goes, the car came with a flowmaster exhaust which sounds pretty good, and besides the posi and higher gears from the y87 package... Not a whole lot else as I am aiming for an Ls1 swap further into my senior year! My car has fairly decent black paint... The car was given to us with a hanging down front bumper covered in spider cracks and a rear bumper with a crack and chips... I personally sanded the bumper down and replaced the rear bumper with a used one as well as replaced a dented headlight cover and bug gut stained mirrors. Now all the lines are good and everything is very pretty so now I will start using this thread to post anything else that I might soon do to my car for anyone willing to listen! thanks CZ for all the help!

Car looks great man! Reminds me of when I bought mine 2 years ago when I was 16. It was pretty rough, But I have fixed it now where it looks halfway decent. There is still a lot of work to do though lol.

Should be today if it does not rain. If not, you can always drive to Austin for dyno day; one of the BCSS member works at a badass shop.

Added a new switch in a convertible switch plate to control the red LEDs and the power to the amp for the subs. Also replaced the window switch!

Looks good. Amp doesn't use remote wire from stereo?

I hooked it up to the switch so it's not always on when I play music

Sometimes it's nice to be able to turn the sub amp on/off at-will. Not really something installers do, Nor the stereo user.

Got my vinyl decals in, put the bird on the back, center caps and red Pontiac symbols on the steering wheel and new switch plate!

Edit: don't know why the pic of the wheel is so crappy..

I like the canter caps. Makes for a nice subtle appearance mod, and certainly looks a lot better than the ABS on the cap. I did a similar one to mine, with the chrome background and the red bird.

I found a black high rise trans am hatch on cl. It was listed for 420$ but he said he will do $250 plus my low rise.. I asked for better pics and he said the paint was "nice". Its prolly an hour and a half away but hopefully will be worth it!
