1997 camaro z28 evap purge solenoid self destruct

So this started when I got the SES light p1441 so I checked the evap purge solenoid and it had a few metal pieces falling out the back and the spring was missing. So I went to OReilly's and picked up a new one for 20 dollars and cleared the check engine code. The next day the light comes back on and the same thing had happened. Is this a faulty piece or brand? Or is my engine causing this in some way?

If anyone can help that would be awesome! Thanks!

Possible causes
- Faulty EVAP canister purge solenoid
- Faulty Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) sensor

Is the gas cap on tight and does it seal properly?

I believe the gas cap works right. I hear pressure release after I unscrew the cap.

is there a solenoid on the canister too? Where?

Also where is the fuel tank pressure sensor? Should it be replaced?
