check engine light coming on while accelerating?

Hello everyone i am new to this forum! Well i got this 92 camaro
About 2 months ago its got the tbi 305 and a 5speed tranny..
My problem is when im setting a redlight or anywhere with the car
Idleing it does fine but as soon as i go to take off amd the car raises up
To take off the check engine ligh comes on then goes on and off while
Driving around until i stop at a redlight then it goes off until i take off again.
I replaced my fuel pump a month or so ago because the little rubber piece
Above the fuel pump was rotten and they car wouldnt stay running..
Car runs great now but i dont understand the light coming on?

Welcome. So, the light comes on, but the car seems to run fine?

Are you saying it flashes when you are moving?
A flashing SES light can indicate a catalytic convertor problem.
Also indicates a random misfire IIRC.

The flashing SES refers to damage being done to emissions equipment (catalytic converter). A misfire can cause problems with the cat, so you end up with a flashing SES

Check engine light on when accellerate and driving

branden865 Did anyone ever help you solve this. My does the same thing as you describe. Check Engine light is off when idling, but come on as soon as I accelerate to start moving and stays on while driving. I have notice the fan run too, but no overheating.
Anyone solved his yet?? thanks. I have no way to read codes since this is 95 and apparently they do not sale the ODB1 scanners anymore that you can make an adapter for the OBD2 connector on 95's as Shoebox's diagram shows.
