Welcome. I think you've got a lot of potential there. I love the looks of those 80s Ferraris. Look forward to seeing your progress with it.

Prior to owning this car, I had a 1999 V6 Camaro. It completely lacked everything this car has. It has power windows & locks, T-Tops, Posi-Trac, functioning induction vents. I really couldn't be happier with my find. I'm re-upholstering the interior tho I have settled on any color in particular. I'm leaning on a Black & Red theme for the inside. I'm a upgrade the Sound System and putting something really nice in, possibly installing a tablet with a built-in wireless hotspot to stream music.

Welcome.

Kill that car with fire. That car may have started as a Camaro, but that car will never be considered a Camaro imo.

Call it what it is though, some hybrid ferrari fiero thingy.

Cool looking though, just not a cool looking Camaro.

If I wanted Camaro that everybody else has...I would've just jumped on the band-wagon with the rest of you. That happened to be the problem I came across, I dont want to drive down the street and see someone else in the same car. Now dont get me wrong...I love the way Camaros look and always have...but I wanted something just a handful of people are going to have.

I'll keep everybody posted on progress. It's my first project so I'm really excited about adding my own flavor to the car. Can we post videos on here?

Yeah I feel you. I'm going to try to restore as much of it to it's original conditionas I can. It's a bit trickier to do since they dont even make these kits. So my best bet would be to find someone to fabricate anything that's missing. Luckly for me...the body is pretty much complete and so is the engine, it just needs interior to be re-done since it was sitting for well over 10 years.

So is the interior 83 Camaro or is it all exotic and one off? If it's just an 83 Camaro interior it should be relatively easy to restore/re-do.

The interior is of an '83 Camaro. It didn't have seats when I first got the car so I bought some leather seats off my friend. I'll take some pictures of the inside when I get back home from work, it was raining all weekend so I couldn't do it yesterday.

Doing some homework I found out the car was designed and built by Mark Beal from El Cajon, CA, and he showed the car he built at the LA & NY Autoshows back in 1983. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks guys
Not sure what you want to know specifically but here are a few things. The Camaro/Stiletto starts with a standard camaro or firebird and is then cut in half 10.5" a reinforcing retangular tube was placed inside the lower door sill from the rear to the front for strength and then welded with an X shape from this tube up to around the rear windows for strength. All the flowboards and outside metal was fabricated like the original and mig welded to fill the 10.5 gap. The stock wiring harness was still used without lenghtening it, just a little relocation did the trick. The rear fiberglass section was placed OVER the existing metal and a 3M glue was used to attach it. this made for even more added strength while transforming the shape to the Italian look. The front clip is removed from the original Camaro and then fitted with the one piece Stiletto, using all of the stock attachement points. The rear hatchback utilized the stock mountin points and hinges. The headlight are custom made but use Firebird motors and electrical. The tailights are Mazda turned upside down. The front bumper was custom made but the rear bumper was from a import, can't remember which one. The front and rear bumpers used the stock Camaro mounting points and compression shocks. There was only a total of 14 Stilettos built.

The name of the company at the time was International Team of Designers but it was Mark Beal (me) that did the actual design and prototype by himself. I also owned Roaring 20's Motor Cars which designed and manufactured the Corsair. There was 32 turn key Corsairs made with another 100 plus kits made later.

The last car I did was the Warlock in 1991. It premiered at the LA car show. It was a supercar, 2 passenger convertible with a massive 10 liter V-8 all aluminum and over 700 hp. The car held a speed record a the Salt flats for a while of 244mph.

Hope that was of some help.
Mark Beal
