Talking Lt1 ?

Just read a post where someone said that the 3.8L was a LT1, I thought the 1997 5.7 was a LT1. I would also like info on the LT4 , what was that installed on?

Thanks.

the V8 was the LT1 engine, but the 93-97 body style is referred to as the "LT1" body, and the 98-02 is the "LS1" body; after the v8s that came in them.

The 3.8 was the L36.

The 5.7 LT4 was installed on some select 97 Firehawks and Camaro SS 6-speeds. Wikipedia claims that it was 106 camaros and 29 Firehawks, but there isn't any sort of citation for this claim. Suffice to say, an LT4 4th gen is a rare find.

The 6.2 LT4 was introduced about 4 years ago for the corvette and is on the current Camaro ZL1.

The new 6.2 is an LT1 not an LT4.

The 6.2 LT4 is the supercharged version of the 6.2 LT1. It came out more recently than the 6.2 NA LT1...so it technically is "the new 6.2"
