Mini-Game: Name That Cord!

Any passenger that takes a ride in my car will note that there's a cord hanging out of the dashboard and I'm like "tell me something I don't know". My dad wouldn't stop commenting on it when he was taking me to a Sport's bar yesterday to get some chicken wings . Now I decided to find out what this cord really is so people could stop bitching and complaining. Here's some pictures to see if anyone has any clue what it is:

Any ideas?

Where did it end on each side?

Looks like a normal headphone jack, although your photo is really blurry. Could've been something that a person plugged their portable Cd player or iPod into to listen to music.

It looks like a power adapter plug, possibly for a radar detector.

The part from the first picture ended barely touching the back speaker. I removed the covering for the speaker and couldn't find any slots for it to go in. Plus the speaker is too high for a cord that short because it went straight across the door preventing people from getting in the passenger seat. So that rules out the back speaker. Only reason why I ruled out the speaker first was because my dad was like buzzed saying "it probably hooks into the back speaker which is the reason why it doesn't work". I knew it wasn't the reason, just wanted to rule it out. I managed to take another picture. Hopefully it's more clearer.

Now that I think of it, you're probably right. My mom did have a radar detector when she owned the car. So it probably is the cord to a old fashioned radar detector. Makes sense. Thanks!

looks like an AC adapter for something that needed power, cut it off.

I couldn't get to the source, so I ended up tucking it away. Do you think that the male rod that hooks into the radar detector would cause a fire if I tucked it away inside the dashboard?
