when I drove out to RI for the 4th of july, I skirted NYC... added a half hour to my driving distance, but probably saved 3 hours of time, lol.

as for the businesses' cameras... there's more than $2000 at stake in the difference in claim here... in IN thats enough to take to small claims court. in which case you can subpoena the footage and they HAVE TO give it to your lawyer. ask the businesses around if they will give you the footage... the worst they can say is no.

Yeah i would love to take this to court because he hit me from behind. Unfortunately this couldnt have come at a worse time because I'm preparing for a move down to Florida and I can't deal with going to court right now. Luckily the money they are sending me is enough to fix it using used parts. I managed to find a Quarter panel in the same color in good condition so I'm just gonna swap them out and used the old one to practice painting fiberglass. Still sucks though.

I would still get the police report out of this - since it's reported as "your" fault, you might wind up getting dinged on insurance if you don't fight it.

The only real damage was obviously the quarter panel, the rear bumper and the poor little side lamp. if you look closely, the small area thats crack on the bottom closest to the tire is actually part of the bumper cover. Since its plastic I'm just gonna have a friend splice it together and blend the paint. The bitch of the whole process is that there are 3 hidden screws that hold the quarter panel to the body that are covered by the roof. GM realized how much of a PITA this would be in 2001 and outfitted the 2002 Z06s with slots on the panel where those screws were so they could just slip out. To get around this I am going to have to use a sawzall to cut off the old panel, slot the new one(if it isnt off a 2002+ Z06) and then install it. Its a process -_-

We are not morons, I worked hard to afford driving down there to enjoy a relaxing vacation, and don't appreciate some guy just coming on here and voicing their opinion that means nothing, but blatantly taking a blind stab at a fellow American for no reason at all.

I'm pretty sure the 75 year old lady living in her car with Florida plates and going 20MPH in the middle lane on the freeway when everybody else is going 70 is a Florida resident and is not vacationing.

It's okay, they're not for everyone. Has a lot to do with personal taste/preference.

**** nyc, the most arrogant *******s..., so where was your comment to ifreezed's post. i guess to you, new yorkers aren't americans. and you've vacationed in florida, so how many days have you spent here. i've lived here for 24 years and there are morons here just like in every other state, so i'm not taking a blind stab, i live with them every day. do you? of course not, just another slam on new yorkers and me because you know good and well that i have lived and worked for nyc so you let that arrogant ******* remark go by. now i live in fla. and have been here long enough to call it my home. doesn't mean there are no morons driving here. fairness, i doubt i will ever get that on this site.

having driven in a number of states in the midwest, south and new england, I can say that by far the worst drivers I've seen had either Illinois, New York or Massacheusetts plates. in that order. florida drivers I've seen are either old men that don't know how to drive and are arguing with the old woman in the passenger seat or young executives that live in florida and work in Indy for tax reasons. New York drivers cut me off and speed away too quickly for me to tell...

for your health.
