i wouldnt think much. depending on the charger. but id say 50-130~. i know a guy with an SC'd LS1 with about 440HP. and the only thing he has other than that is exhaust. thats only 125 over stock, with exhaust..you might want to consider larger fuel injectors and/or fuel rails to really take advantage of the SC.

you can't just plug and play with an SC either... not if you are trying to get that much HP out of it. stock can handle about 8lbs of boost all day (so I've heard), but you'll need to build it up if you want to run anything above that. 8# of boost will get you about 30-45 HP, I think. I could be wrong, but thats what I've heard.

just get a Grand Prix GTP engine... its pretty near a direct swap, and its already built to handle up to 16(?)# of boost. I know the boost guage goes up to 30, with a yellowline at 22-25 and a redline at 25. the one I saw anyway. thats personal experience, but the rest is what I've heard.

8 lbs of boost is considered the "safe" limit on our engine. to run that your deffinatly gona need an upgraded fuel system and tuning

If you're stock with a supercharger it won't do much for you - period. Maybe with a tune and some other stuff you'll see some big improvements.
Stock, even with 6 psi I think you're getting close to maxing out the injectors and running lean.

Like taylor said, injectors and fuel pump are a must, as well as new spark plugs like NGK tr6, and I beleive gapped to .35 is what most people run under low boost.

sc n turbos are pointless for v6. for the kind of money you will waste you can just get a v8 which will probably be faster then your sc v6.. if you want speed on a v6 go full bolt ons.

why not just save your money you'd spend on the sc, sell your car, and get one with a V8?

ok.....I think this has been covered 1 billion times.

NOT every person wants a god damn v8. Some people enjoy working on there v6 cars and making them fast. when a v6 runs a low 13 or 12....it turns heads.

you know how many people restore cars...then sell them for less then what you put in them...its like the same concept. Any monkey can make a 12/11 sec ls1

Ok but the thing is the cost and time it would take to do so with a v6, I mean if he wants to do it by all means do it but JUST super charging it seems silly. And im sure with enough time and money I could make a grocery cart run low 13 or 12.

ok then do it, im sure that grocery kart would turn heads. LIKE i said in my post some people like making a v6 fast...is it cost effective...no. I did not say it was.

And slapping a supercharger on isnt that bad of idea..why is it a waste? a pretty much stock 3.8 with a powerdyne kit and 9lb pulley can probably get close to running mid 13s. Add tires, gears, full bolt ons, and a good track tune. low 13s all day. idk seems pretty awesome too me.

And LIKE I said, if thts what he wants to do then go for it. I was just giving my opinion. But I still think it defeats the purpose of getting a car with a V6, to me they are a base model for a reason and they are not meant to perform, they are meant for better mpg. But again his money and his preferences. Try and stay calm :icon_wink:
