Write ups and Tech Articles

I think FBO is a great site, and I believe it should be fully packed with resources such as How-To's and Do it Yourself type write-ups and Tech Articles.

If you guys are working on your car (or even someone else's) and find a chance to snap a few pictures, and can give a decently detailed explanation (step-by-step direction) to fulfilling certain projects and tasks, why not share that knowledge with others? A few common questions are asked a lot and instead of trying to hunt down that write-up or thread, we can have a common place for all of the How-To's.

If you guys compose a write-up and would like to submit them to FBO for consideration/publication into the Tech Articles section of the site here's a few basic guidelines to keep in mind:
1. Thorough and accurate information- if you're not sure on the accuracy of certain things, do a little research, or ASK (all submissions will be also be double checked for accuracy)
2. Pictures! - Pics pics pics! You can never have enough, this adds to the detail of the write-up and can only improve it.
3. Submissions are subject to editing as Admin and staff see fit. (Nothing that ruins the overall integrity of the article, only ways to help improve it)
4. Questions regarding submissions, article ideas, the above guidelines, or anything else may be directed to Rocket 442 or myself (Superman). Feel free to PM either one of us, or post in this thread.

If you have a possible article ready for submission, please post the link to the thread here or PM one of us with your write-up for review.

Thanks ahead of time for your support and information!:icon15:

Too large to be an article. Plus, unknown author.
As for all the others submitted thus far.
They have been reformatted and are pending review. Will keep you guys posted if and when they are published.

... I dropped an lt1 from an impala into a 96 camaro... tons of little things I had to do to get it to fit.

Well if you can create a detailed explanation on how you did it, and preferably post some pictures to go with it.
Slap it together and send it our way! :icon15:

Bump for requesting more submissions!
alrighty then. I'll pull up my build sheet, and see what pics I have from the job.
I know the balancer and distributor (hate that optispark thing...) had to be swapped over... quite a tight sqeeze between the rad support, and the cowling overhang, but I actually pulled it out the top!
the customer got refused by 4 shops to do the swap, and I did it out of pity for the girl that JUST bought the car sight unseen from ebay... anybody wanna buy the long block I pulled out?

Post up the "updated" version when you finish, or send it to me. Whichever is easier.
